Dear Friends,
I just returned from Cuba a couple of weeks ago. This trip was the fruit of many years of prayer and hopes and dreams of reaching that nation with the Gospel.
Just before we landed in Havana, a gentleman we did not know sitting near us on the plane began to tell us a dream he had that day. In the dream we were getting off the plane in Havana and women were kneeling down and putting money on the ground saying “the King is coming, the King is coming”. I was traveling with my friend Recie Saunders who ministers all over the world interpreting dreams and spreading seeds of revival.
The man did not understand the dream, so Recie explained that that the “King” was the King of Kings, and he began to share with the man about his gift and where it came from.
It was very encouraging to us to hear a dream that was so relevant to the trip coming from a man who didn’t even know God yet. The women represented the church and money speaks of favor.
After landing and getting our Cuban visas, we traveled 600 miles to Santiago, the second largest city on the Eastern side of Cuba.
The hunger for the things of God and for the supernatural was amazing. I could not believe how the church was thriving under such hardship.
One night I had a dream that I was on a mountain and saw an angel speaking to Recie. I was able to watch the conversation, but was not able to hear it. Then I was shown a couple of other places that were key to what was taking place in the supernatural. I felt I was to be in a supporting role to the release of the anointing, literally “seeds of revival”, that night. As we walked into the meeting area that night, we could sense the presence of that angel and the anointing unlike anything I had ever felt.
Everything fleshly and not of the Spirit of God was completely silenced that
night. It was a holy time before God as Recie prayed one by one for every person
and I stood directly behind and interceded for him and the people. For 2-
I cannot begin to describe how I was touched seeing the hunger in the believers. One day we ministered by the ocean. It poured rain twice and no one wanted to leave. They say sometimes when the church gets together or when they have a reunion in someone’s home that it is common for them to still be celebrating when the sun comes up the next morning!
As I have had time to think about the trip, I realize how much has been accomplished in the Cuban church with so little resources. Minimum wage is around $18 dollars per month. We met a doctor who made $25 dollars per month and a lawyer who only made $30 per month. With food and household items being about the same price as here in America, you can see how much the people are suffering.
One preacher told me it is hard to find a good Christian book, and even when one is available, it takes about one month’s wages to buy one or make a copy of it.
We visited churches in Camanguey and Jovellanos in Central Cuba as well and found the same hunger and excitement for the things of God. They truly worship “In Spirit and in Truth”! They know how to usher in the anointing, and even write most of their own music!
I will definitely be going back in the future. It was been our dream for many years to be an “advance” team going in to that country before it opens fully to the Gospel. Much was accomplished.
Thanks for your prayers and generous support,
Scott McDonald
